upon a time, R.I.P.KORD, was a very hard working and dependable single color Heidelberg KORD offset press. The years passed and one day the time came for Ripkord (as he’s affectionately called) to retire in order to take it easy and make room for a shiny new 5 color Heidelberg Speedmaster.
We hated to see our old friend depart and found it hard to say goodbye. Jane Hafling, co-founder of Color Art Printing, arrived on the scene with an idea. She took away some of the parts to the KORD and in great secrecy, had him transformed. He was returned to the shop but not as a part of the production team. This time he has a new role as our greeter and mascot. To us, he symbolizes our solid traditional printing background and our wish to honor the past. We look forward to the amazing technology of today, and tomorrow, with Ripkord by our side. He is recycling personified.
Jane’s neighbors, Chris and Jessica, refer to him as Printer Bear Extraordinaire. Stop on by and say hello to Ripkord and his friends at Color Art Printing.
