Before sending us your files, please see that you have checked your files with the steps below.

1. Name Your Document(s)

Write your name, address and phone number on all diskettes, art or proofs that are sent to us. Please give all your files descriptive names.

2. Supply All Files Needed to Complete the Job

Please make sure you include all graphics used in the job. If your graphics look fuzzy or pixelated the graphics may be missing.

3. Supply All Fonts Needed to Complete the Job

We at Color Art Printing have many fonts to use for your job, but in any case, please send us the original screen and printer fonts used in your job. We don't always have the same fonts you used.

4. Convert All Your Colors From RGB to CMYK

Offset printing is done in CMYK format. Please convert all your RGB graphics to CMYK.

5. Scan and Save Your Images at the Correct Resolution and Format

When scanning in photos or graphics, set your resolution to at least 300 dpi for offset printing. Save your files as .tif files or .eps files and in CMYK or grayscale format.

6. Set Up Your Document Bleeds Correctly

Please make sure your bleeds are set for at least 1/8 inch beyond the edge of your final document size.

7. Send Us a Mock-up of Your Project

It always helps us when we have something to match the files you give us to. You are welcome to create a paper mock-up or you can send us a PDF file of what you want your final project to look like.

If you follow all of these steps, your project will run much smoother and save you time and money in the process, however don't worry if you don't understand or can't do all the steps listed. Just give us a call and we will be happy to walk you through the process.
